Fresh from the Mediterranean, cut at our counter.

A Mediterranean and Middle Eastern food store on Lupus Street. Produce out on the pavement, a working butchery at the back, and shelves that run from sesame oil and tahini to pickled turnips, baklava and rice by the sack.

Who we are

From our counter to your table

Alhayat is a neighbourhood food shop, not a chain branch. The produce goes out on the pavement first thing, the butchery at the back cuts to order through the day, and the aisles in between carry the Lebanese, Syrian and Turkish groceries that the supermarkets on this stretch don't bother with.

If you can't find something, ask at the counter. That is usually faster than walking the aisles.

Alhayat stocks and welcomes South American, African, Balkan, Arab, Asian, Middle Eastern products alongside Greek, Syrian, Lebanese, Turkish, Egyptian, Kosovan, Iranian, Italian, Afghan, Indian, Pakistani lines — so every community on this stretch of Pimlico can find a taste of home.

What's on the shelves

Shop by aisle

Tap an aisle to see more of what's on that shelf.

At the back of the shop

A butchery counter, not a chilled cabinet

Lamb, beef, chicken and offal are broken down on site and cut to order — shoulder, leg, chops, mince, however you cook it. Prices are chalked up on the board behind the glass and change with the market, so the board is always right and this page never will be.

Literally a Middle Eastern treasure trove. Packed to the rafters — Lebanese sweets, labneh, fresh veg, bakery, cheeses, and a deli and meat counter. The pickles, herbs, spices and nuts will blow your mind.
